Real Cougars Vs Cougar Town

Linda Franklin’s “Real Cougar Woman” (RCW) website and newsletter have been followed by HuntingCougar.com since it launched in 2007, but hasn’t commented on until now.  RCW supplies a wealth of information to empowered cougars.  As men who fancy older ladies, it should be used to gain valuable insights.

Pouncing on the “Cougar Town” hype beast, RCW sent out a rally cry this morning titled, “Cougar Town Debate Starts Tonight:”

All of us strong, sexy, independent women over 40 have a very strong voice so let’s use it. Are we being portrayed accurately or are we made to look like sex-starved cartoon characters for the sake of ratings? If we don’t like the media’s portrayal of who we are let’s stand up and be counted.

Later in the email they offer a survey link to five open-ended questions to define a real cougar. The results will be sent to media outlets.  I think it’s great that the cougs are standing up for their brand and cougar hunters should do the same.

HC will be keeping an eye on how the 20-somethings of “Cougar Town” represent themselves. Will they be puppets of an older woman’s fantasy or sophisticated wranglers that hold their own.  Let the debate begin indeed…
